While growing up in Dillon, South Carolina, at the tender age of 6, Calvin Blue, Jr saw his first Doberman Pinscher.  A neighbor had brought Dobermans back when he returned home from the Korean war. Everyday Calvin would watch his neighbor train the dogs in the backyard.  He was so amazed by their agility, strength and overall beauty as the dogs ran around the yard, jumped fences, and developed obedience skills.

As an adult, Calvin knew that once he started his own family, he had to get the majestic breed that he had admired since childhood.  He purchased his first two Doberman Pinschers, Maximilian & Elizabeth, in 1978, right as he was about to marry the love of his life.  Max & Elizabeth were the epitome of "man's best friend."  They were loyal, disciplined, protective, and the best playmates for Calvin's three daughters.  Calvin has continued to raise and breed Dobermans just like Max & Elizabeth for over 30 years.
